The manufacturing of glass display showcases has evolved dramatically over the last fifty years or so. For years manufacturers chose to use thick wood or metal framing to join their glass panels. The wooden or metal framing was available in different stains or metal finishes. Substantial, large bottom and top cabinets were the norm for decades. With the advent of store designing and planning manufacturers started to design showcases where the glass display area was predominant. Full vision glass cases did away with most of the framing on the edges of the glass panels. By using the new techniques of glass to glass construction with direct bonding you can make all the contents of any new showcase directly visible. The trend did continue progressing and nowadays most glass display showcases are full vision.
