Thick or thin? That is the question. At Tecno Display, we understand that laminates come in all sorts of styles and textures. Which can make choosing the best one for your business rather difficult. Worry not! We're here to help! We specialize in crafting customizable display cases that combine visual appeal with functionality.

Check out the chart above to view our laminate selections!

Laminates serve as an ornamental, durable layer that can be adhered to the base of our glass display cases. Laminate is created by stacking sheets of paper that have been coated with resin into a heated pressure unit. As the unit heats the stack, the resin melts the papers together until they become one homogenous sheet. The pressure level during this process determines the thickness of the final laminate sheet.

High Pressure Laminate:

  • High pressure laminate is made by using over 1,000 pounds of pressure. It is thicker, with the intent of being utilized in areas that undergo more stress and foot traffic.

  • This type of laminate is typically found in flooring and countertop edges. It's best suited for areas where scuffing or chipping might occur.

  • HPL usually consists of:

    • Stabilizing Layer

    • Core Layer

    • High Pressure Layer

Direct Pressure Laminate:

Direct pressure laminate is made by using 300 to 600 pounds of pressure. It is durable, but thinner with the intent of being utilized in areas that undergo less stress and foot traffic.

DPL usually consists of:

  • Stabilizing Layer

  • Core Layer

  • Resin-Wear Layer

  • Decorative Layer

Determining which type of laminate you need can be a challenge, but our staff is here to help! If you provide us with the details of your shop, we can offer you some suggestions regarding what might be best for the area. Laminate finishes create a clean, consistent look that easily complements any space.
