Shipping and Receiving a Glass Display Showcase

Store designers, architects, store planners do need to order glass display showcases regularly for their customers. Since most glass display cases are located all over the continental United States shipping and the way it is done is an integral part of the process. Each manufacturer has developed their own way to package and crate their glass cases before shipping. Needless to say that packaging and crating have to be sound and proof since much of any showcase is made of glass. The “skeleton type” of wood crating is used most of the time. It is lighter, efficient, less expensive and easier to take apart by the recipient. When using this kind of crating the glass portion of the display showcase is left totally visible and the carrier is kept aware of what they are handling. The “skeleton type” of packaging is easy to take apart and to dispose of. It does require only a few tools and a minimal amount of time.
